... What I've been up to.

Well I haven't updated in quite a while, and there is so much to share.

First off, I'd like to thank the super awesome who was kind enough to get me a 1 year subscription! I'm really shocked and can't say thank you enough.

Well it seems I've sprained my ankle one too many times, kiddies. So on December 28th I am having surgery. I won't be able to walk (or work) for 6 whole weeks. But it was that or eventually not be able to walk anymore, so... They are gonna drill a hole through my ankle bone and thread a cadaver tendon through and secure that on both sides with screws. Yay me. But after I heal I'll be able to run and do normal things (I haven't been able to jog, let alone run in several years now).

In other unpleasant news, my good friend Aimee passed away last Sunday. She was 34, and left behind 2 children (the oldest is in junior high school). Aimee was a kind, generous woman who helped me out a lot. Her first husband passed away some years ago, and her fiancee passed away a few months ago (he was waiting for a heart transplant that didn't come soon enough...) Since then Aimee was very depressed, and was put on high doses of antidepressants. She recently came down with walking pneumonia and her antibiotics reacted with her antidepressants. This caused her to have a heart attack... She will be greatly missed, and she was very loved.

In yet more unpleasant news, I had to put Socrates to sleep this morning. He had fallen ill, and his chest cavity filled up with a lot of fluid. His lung capacity was reduced by half, and the vets said that he either had cancer or heart disease. Neither of which could be treated. He rapidly declined (I had less than 48 hours with him from the time I got the news), and it was in his best interest to end his suffering. So at 10:30 this morning I lost my little boy... I seem to be cursed with bad news lately.

On a lighter note, my aunt and uncle are expecting their first child, a baby girl who's expected to be born the end of February. So that's a mini update of what's going on in my life lately.
